Position Overview
We are seeking creative, flexible, and team-oriented Child Minders to support our Indigenous Early Years program on a casual basis. In this role, you will assist in providing a nurturing, child-directed, and play-based learning environment for children ages 6 months to 5 years.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with 2-3 other teachers to create and implement a curriculum-based program for young children and infants.
- Perform regular child-minding duties, including sanitization, potty training, and general caregiving tasks.
- Work up to 5-hour shifts with a lunch break (lunch provided).
- Available for varying hours between 9:30 am – 2:30 pm.
- Participate in monthly team meetings.
Requirements
- CPR, First Aid, and Food Safe Level 1 certification.
- Experience in a childcare center, daycare setting, or personal experience as a parent.
- Knowledge of child-directed, play-based learning techniques.
- Familiarity with teaching multiple intelligences to accommodate diverse learning needs.
- Creative, adaptable, and able to work well within a team environment.
