Position Title: Knowledge Keeper
Reports To: Executive Director
Status: Casual, Unionized Position
Wage: $31.00 - $35.51 per hour

Overview:
The Vancouver Aboriginal Health Society (VAHS) is seeking passionate and knowledgeable individuals to join our team as Knowledge Keepers. This role focuses on sharing traditional knowledge, mentoring community members, and supporting holistic wellness within a casual and flexible work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate cultural workshops and activities (e.g., beading, medicine gathering, traditional arts).
  • Mentor and guide individuals and groups in traditional practices.
  • Provide cultural support and teachings to strengthen community resilience.
  • Collaborate with Elders and other team members to promote healing and cultural identity.

Qualifications:

  • Must identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit).
  • Deep understanding of Indigenous cultural practices and protocols.
  • Experience in mentoring and community engagement.
  • Proficiency in traditional skills such as beading, sewing, or medicine gathering.
  • Driver’s license is an asset.
