About the Program
The Women’s Mobile Primary Care Program (WMPC) provides equitable, holistic, trauma-informed, and culturally grounded healthcare to urban Indigenous women and gender-diverse people in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES). Our mobile health unit brings primary care directly to community spaces, blending Western medical practices with Indigenous traditional knowledge through a Two-Eyed Seeing approach.

Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and adaptable Medical Outreach Administrative Worker to join our casual, on-call pool. This position provides administrative, outreach, and logistical support to WMPC team members during outreach clinics. Duties include assisting with patient intake, managing documentation, maintaining supplies, conducting outreach with patients, and liaising with community partners.

This is an on-call position with no guaranteed hours. Shifts may be offered based on program needs and your availability. Potential shift days include Monday to Thursday, typically between 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and close down mobile clinic spaces at designated outreach locations.

  • Greet clients, complete intake forms, and ensure accurate patient registration in the EMR system.

  • Support WMPC staff with administrative tasks during clinic hours.

  • Conduct outreach appointments with patients, including attending specialist visits, lab appointments, hospital visits, and advocacy meetings.

  • Maintain and organize medical supplies, forms, and outreach materials.

  • Communicate with partner organizations and community site staff as needed.

  • Uphold confidentiality, safety, and cultural sensitivity at all times.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of administrative or outreach experience in healthcare or social services (preferred).

  • Experience with EMR systems for patient registration (preferred).

  • Familiarity with Indigenous communities and cultural safety principles (asset).

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort interacting with diverse populations.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; EMR system experience is an asset.

  • Ability to lift and carry outreach supplies (up to 20 lbs) and travel to multiple community sites.
